Cooking directions for family of 4
COOK: 3 tbsp toor dal +3 cups water +1 pinch turmeric powder.
GRIND: 3 tsp Udupi Kitchen Sambar Powder +2 tbsp cocounut + 1/2 cup water. Add to cooked dal & vegetables.
ADD: 300 gm cut vegetables +1 Cup water & cook.
ADD: 2 1/2 tbsp tamarind pulp (1:5 tamarind: watr) +salt +1tsp jaggery.
BOIL: for 5 minutes
GARNISH: Heat 1 tsp ghee, 1/2 tsp mustard + curry leaves + 1 pinch of asafoetida.
